Festa Italiana

Festitalia is proudly brought to you by

Festitalia 2019

Dear friends and lovers of Festitalia,

The Executive and Organising Committee of Festitalia wishes to inform the community that the Festival will not be going ahead this year.

This decision has been made because the Executive of Festitalia only recently finalised its claim with our insurance company following the cancellation of Festitalia in 2018 due to extreme weather conditions.

We could not have commenced the planning and execution of the necessary arrangements for Festitalia 2019 until the insurance claim was finalised for reasons that I am sure all of you will understand.

The Executive of Festitalia will convene again during the next couple of months to discuss the organisation of future editions of Festitalia.

In the meanwhile, can we encourage all our friends to keep enjoying all good things Made in Italy?

With kind regards,

Commendatore the Hon Santo Santoro

President - Festitalia

Over 30 flavour-makers will celebrate with Italian-inspired stalls and pop-ups, offering a huge range of fare from authentic espresso, pizza, grilled octopus, risotto, calamari to cannoli, gnocchi and nutella bomboloni, granita to Italian sausages, and more. And, in breaking culinary news - there will be Cannoli and Gelato Eating Competitions and don't miss the 'Ningia Nonna'- pantofole throwing competition!

The internationally acclaimed Gruppo Storico Fivizzano Flag Throwers direct from Fivizzano in Italy lead the entertainment lineup, joined by the Brisbane Tarantella Dancers, swordsmen Prima Spada, historical re-enactment specialists Pax Romana, performers Diletta Luna from Brisbane and Two Italian Guys from Sydney, and the famed pizza acrobat Youssef Ben-Touati. The event will also be hosted by James Liotta, the award-winning stage, screen and television performer.

Festitalia will host a range of exhibitions - there will be Ferrari, Vespa, Ducati,  Apè, Fiat, Lancia  and Alfa Romeo displays, a photographic exhibition of Venetian masks, a display of Regio Esercito Italian Military Uniforms, and  beautiful Italian Murano hand-blown glass jewellery.

After you've seen them all, stop in and get a haircut from Tony's Chop Shop Pop-up Barber shop or relax with an 'Esclusivo Italia'  cigar at
