The Regio Esercito Italiano (Royal Italian Army) was the army of the Kingdom of Italy from the unification of Italy in 1861 to the birth of the Italian Republic in 1946. After the monarchy ended, the army changed its name to become the Italian Army (Esercito Italiano).
A display of Regio Esercito Italiano Military Uniforms will be on display for the duration of the day.
Italian Venetian glassblowing originated as far back as the Roman Empire, where it was used to lighten the interiors of bath houses. A furnace dating back to the 8th century was found on the island of Murano in the 1960s.
The process of making Murano glass is rather complex. The glass is made from silica, which becomes liquid at high temperatures. As the glass passes from a liquid to a solid state, there is an interval when the glass is soft before it hardens completely. This is when the glass-master can shape the material.
Watch master glassblower Fae Chandler as she creates articles of sparkling beauty.
